I added a box into my user page that allows you to easily create a new game page with all the necessary templates already in place, empty. Check it out. The process to do this was very simple: on the page where you want the creation box to appear, you add this:
Now, you'll notice that snippet has a reference to another page, namely Steam Trading Cards Wiki:Game page/preload. You can create any number of "wizards" like this, but I suppose we'll be happy with this one and another one for the trading card pages. Anyone want to make one? :)

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you know that while I love editing the wikia I just need to take some time off due to burnout. I've added a lot of game pages (and Chris followed up with the images) and now I am just relaxing a bit before my next burst of editing. I'm always watching the wikia for vandilism (which has dropped significantly since making anonymous edits forbidden) and for edits by other users that need to be patrolled (reviewed). So just know that I am here but just taking some time off from the big work :)
So I added the purge feature to our wikia. If you make an edit and it doesn't seem to show up right away you can click on the drop-down arrow next to edit and you should see a refresh option appear. By clicking that you force the server cache to purge the old version of the page so that the new version is available to all.
Right now it does not show up but it will eventually.
The button is now Active and can be found int the edit buttons drop-down!
- Try to get all the templates portable (mobile friendly)
- Discuss what to do about icons, profile backgrounds, etc etc that have descriptions.
Please posts your thoughts and opinion on the forum post!
Several weeks ago, I add a page of UNO, South Park: The Fractured But Whole and Injustice 2, those three following games with Steam Trading Cards. It's still incomplete and I'm gonna help with those.
- Injustice 2
- South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Can someone make a page on the game Angels with Scaly Wings? It's quite an underrated game, but it does have trading cards, badges, backgrounds and emoticons. (Although there are not much of them on the market, and the ones that are cost a lot more than any other items for any other game.)
steamcommunity.com/app/571880/ here is a link to the game.
I enjoy contributing to ths wiki as it is much easier than other sites to contribute to, it does take a long time to get a page sorted though as you need to make individual pages and upload photos seperately for every trading card and emoticon before adding them to the games page.
So I purchased To Be or Not To Be on 3 November (somewhat late in the day IIRC) and just now started it up with the intent of leaving it idle before deciding I'd just call it a night and shut down for bed. A mere fifteen minutes elapsed by the time elapsed counter, yet it awarded me my first Trading Card for the game* anyway. Is it just because there's comparably little "gameplay", or it was on sale, or...? Not really looking for an answer, just felt like noting it for anyone who cares.
- I realize calling it a "game" is a bit inaccurate, but choosing your own adventure is as valid a game mechanic as any other form of entertainment, however rigid the potential outcomes
This is something I've been thinking about for a while now, but I think it's time that I move on from working on this wiki. It's something that I just don't enjoy as much as I used to, and it simply takes up too much time. With roughly 50 games added every week, it takes at least a couple of hours every day just to add the games and their cards, forget getting any actual work done completing the pages. The trading card system is a bit over 3 years old now, and I've been working on the wiki nearly from the beginning - I just feel like its time to move on and do something different.
I'd like to thank everyone who's contributed to the wiki. Have fun :)
Another two weeks (already?), another status update:
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is up to 3856, giving us a total of 98 games released in the past 2 weeks. There are 1926 Work in Progress games, up 82 from last time. That gives us 16 games finished off in the past 2 weeks.
Not really much else to say, really.
Time for yet another 2 week status update:
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is now 3758, up 84 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress pages is now 1844, up 76 from 2 weeks ago. That gives a total of 8 games finished off.
A slightly slower 2 week period, since at least there were less than 100 games released. Other than that, there's really not much to say.
Yet another biweekly status update on the wiki:
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is now 3674, up 106 from 2 weeks ago. That would be the second highest number of games added in a 2 week period. The number of Work in Progress pages is 1768, up 93 from the previous period. That gives a total of 13 pages finished off.
This was the third 2 week period in a row with more than 100 games added. So I'm guessing this is the new normal... So, anyone know when the next big Steam sale is? I could use a break :P
Another 2 weeks, another status update on the wiki:
The number of supported games/movies/software is now 3568, up 105 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress pages is now 1675, up 90. That gives a total of 15 game pages finished off. Not great, but certainly better than last time around.
The number of games having Steam cards added definitely seems to be have accelerated greatly in the past couple of months. While this period's 105 games isn't an all time high (which was 112, set 2 weeks ago), it is the second highest number ever. That gives 227 card sets total in the past 2 weeks. The entire first year of the trading card program, there were 677 games, so releases are roughly four times faster than they were 2 years ago.
Happy Easter everyone. It's been another 2 weeks, so it's time for the usual status update.
The number of supported Games/Movies/Software is up to 3463. In the past 2 weeks, the number of card sets released was 112. Yes, that's right, 112. For reference, the previous high was 92, set 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress pages 1585, up 108 from 2 weeks ago. That gives 4 card sets finished off, which is... not terribly good, really :P
I have to say, having 112 sets released in a 2 week period is absolutely insane. I certainly hope that this isn't any sort of new normal, because it's almost impossible to keep up with. Really, the only reason I have been able to keep up with this avalanche of games is another topic I was going to talk abo…
So DanglingBotifier has now stripped all the "Common Emoticons" tags (except from one blog comment), a little less painlessly than anticipated because I thought to try to avoid extra edits by simultaneously add in the Fair Use licensing in the event it hadn't been (which I've seen but can't remember where). That didn't quite go as planned, and now there are maybe some double-licensed files here and there... not quite so easy to fix, but I guess it's better than not having the license at all. That's what I get for letting good old Mouse Auto-clicker do all the edit approvals.
Uncommon Emoticons is a little over half as many as Common, so it shouldn't take as long to fix even if I monitor the process, but it DOES tie up my computer, to my a…
Well, permanently banned from Steam General Discussions. I guess that's one way to shut me up. Not making me particularly pleased, but hey, screw user satisfaction right?
Also funny how this was supposed to cut down tickets but I've send 1 in 2012, and then no more till end 2015, when Valve's shit hit the fan. And when I say funny; I mean sad.
Well, I guess they can revel now in less posts being against it, sure must be easy to have something "positive" if you just ban any opposition... see, everyone loves it!
Second ban time from the mods. They sure do seem to make a very hard effort to sweep any dissatisfaction under the rug. As expected I cannot trade nor sell anything, and as thus also refuge to buy anything. This kinda hampers my ability to help out on the wiki, as also interest is waning since the card system has been rendered useless to me.
Another 2 weeks, another status update:
The number of supported games/movies/software is currently 3351, up 92 from 2 weeks ago. That's an all-time high, breaking the previous high of 91 games released in 2 weeks set back in October. Needless to say, after such a massive number of games being released, we fell behind,. The number of Work in Progress pages is 1477, up 68 from 2 weeks ago. That puts the number of game pages finished off in the past 2 weeks at 24.
Not really a whole lot to say, other than it would be nice if releases were a bit slower :P
... that top link stuff?
Also since Steam decided to screw me over my chance to help out here has severly diminished. As does my inclination. I will probably still work of my list of things I was still going to do, but then... well, we'll have to see if I stick around.
I just think it's so incredible how Valve made Steam so safe with Steam Guard... See this Steam Guard code I got today...
Admin edit: This image is deleted because her account name shown. Her code is "BBBB".
So the shitty trade hold wasn't enough (I have a hard time finding people to trade cards with now), they find it time to fuck up my trading more... AND my markettransactions
Seriously, 15 freaking days? I have no idea if I can actually USE the goddamn trading card system if they implent this. WTF Valve? WTF.
Time for the usual 2 week status update:
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is at 3259, up 81 games from 2 weeks ago. That's somewhat above average, more than has been added in a 2 week period since the beginning of November. The number of Work in Progress pages is 1409, up 51 from 2 weeks ago. The number of pages that have been finished off is 30, which is actually quite good.
Not really a lot more to say. So, until next time, have a good 2 weeks!

Happy Valentine's Day, and it's time for another status update.
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is now 3178, up 65 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in process pages is 1358, up 37 from last time. That gives us a total of 28 pages finished off in the past 2 weeks.
A SLIGHTLY slower than average 2 week period, possibly related to the Lunar New Year sale.
Another 2 weeks, another status update on the wiki:
The number of supported games/movies/software is now at 3115, up 78 from 2 weeks ago, a reasonably busy 2 weeks. The number of Work in Progress pages is 1321, up 36 from 2 weeks ago, which isn't too bad. Between those two numbers, 42 game pages have been finished off.
Now that we've reached January, I've ALMOST mastered the art of typing 2016 instead of 2015 when entering dates on the wiki. This has saved me significant amounts of time correcting mistakes this past week.
Another 2 weeks, another status update:
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is now at 3,037. Yes, that's right, we've broken 3,000. The 2,000 point was passed back in June 2015, 7 months ago. The 1,000 milestone was passed in September 2014, 9 months before that, and 16 months after the trading card system was added to Steam. So the rate of gaming having cards added continues to accelerate. We'll have to see how long it takes to get to 4,000.
Anyway, back to the status update: the number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is now at 3,037, up 61 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress pages is 1285, up 37 from 2 weeks ago. That would give us 24 pages finished off.
Happy New Year! There's a couple of topics for today's update, so lets start with the usual status report.
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is now at 2976, up 40 from 2 weeks ago. A pretty slow time period for game releases, which isn't much of a surprise, really. The number of Work in Progress pages is 1248, up 17 from 2 weeks ago, meaning 23 games have been finished off. It was nice to have a slower period of releases to work on some of them.
The second topic is the wiki's popularity: there's always a lot more people visiting during Steam sales, and this one was no exception: according to Wikia's WAM score, we've now reached a new all-time high in this wiki's popularity: on both December 31st and January 1st, we reached #…
Time for the final 2 week update of 2015!
The number of Supported Games/Movies/Software is 2936, up 73 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress games is 1231, up 58 from the last update.
With any luck, the next couple of weeks will be fairly quiet, since there's not too many games released during the Steam Sale, which should be starting this week. So until next time, have a happy holidays!
Time for another 2 week status update. Except that its actually been 3 weeks, because I wasn't paying quite enough attention. I'm going to blame the holidays for that one...
Anyway, the number of Supported Games/movies/software is now at 2863, up 106 from 3 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress pages is now 1173, up 83.
The first 2 weeks of this past period were fairly quiet. The past week, though, has been rather hectic. I just managed to finish adding Friday's games, on Sunday. I'm hoping for a nice quiet period around Christmas :)
Another 2 weeks, another status update:
The number of supported games/movies/software is up to 2757, up 62 from 2 weeks ago. Quite a bit below normal, for some reason. The number of Work in Progress games is at 1090, up 49 from 2 weeks ago. That gives a total of 13 pages finished off.
A pretty quiet period, for whatever reason. Not that I'm complaining :)
Hope everyone had a fun Halloween. It's time for another 2 weeks status update (well, a bit shorter than 2 weeks, since the last one was late...)
The number of Supported Games/Movies is up to 2695, up 87 from last time. The number of Work in Progress is 1041, up 71. That gives 16 games finished off in this period. A fairly normal quiet 2 weeks, overall.
Sorry this one is a bit late. This should have been posted last night, but I wound up having some PC problems, so I didn't get much of anything done. Anyway...
The number of Supported Games is now at 2608, up 70 from 2 weeks ago, and I supposed I need to start including Supported Movies now as well, which is at 7 (up from 2 last week. I guess Valce is starting to push their video sales more.) The number of Work in Progress pages (games and movies combined) is 970, which is up 48 from 2 weeks ago. That would give us 27 pages finished off.
ARGHGHHH SITE MAINTENANCE >=C
...sigh... not like I won't still be doing edits a year from now, I guess ¬_¬
2 weeks already? Boy, that zipped by.
The number of Supported Games is now up to 2538, up 91 from 2 weeks ago. That's a new high score - the previous high was 87 in a 2 week period back in May. I'm not really sure why there's such a massive clump of games at once like that sometimes. The previous 2 week update was only 55 games. That's a pretty big variation... Anyway, the number of Work in Progress games is 922, up 77 from 2 weeks ago. Not really a surprise that we've fallen behind after that avalanche of game releases.
A couple of minor side notes: I changed the background to a Shadowgate one that seems, to me at least, a bit more Halloween-y. I might keep looking, though. The second one is that, with the release of Double Fine Adventure…
Another 2 weeks, another status update. The past couple of weeks have been, for some reason, fairly quiet.
The number of Supported Games is up to 2447, which is only 55 new games. The number of games in Work in Progress is 845, up 36. That means the number of games finished off was 19.
As I said, for some reason, a fairly quiet 2 weeks. I've got a feeling that the coming 2 weeks won't be nearly as quiet, though, since there's a LOT of games on the Unreleased Games page coming out this week.
2 weeks ago, in my last status update, I posted that I was going to be a bit busy and wouldn't be able to work on the wiki as much for a bit. That was followed the next day by an absolute avalanche of new games. I feel like someone at Valve read my post and thought it would be funny to release a massive backlog that they had built up. Anyway...
The number of Supported games is now 2392, up 78 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress games is 809, up 42 from 2 weeks ago. That gives us 36 games having been finished off. Which is definitely better than we have been doing, actually, possibly because there's been a few new people contributing? Actually, I'd love to know the why we suddenly got several new people adding content. Is it …
Yet another status update:
The number of supported games is now up to 2314, up 72 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress games is 767, up 57 from 2 weeks ago. The number of games finished off is then 15. Definitely not the best progress, but I've been pretty busy the past couple of weeks. I've had trouble just keeping up with the new releases, forget working on existing pages. The next week or so will probably be busy too, but hopefully things will be better after that.
Of course, the other big news this past week was the new style update on the wiki. I'd like to thank Raylan13 for that. It needs some various changes, but I'll get to those... Well, eventually...
2 more weeks, yet another status update:
The number of Supported Games is now 2242, up 63 from 2 weeks ago. Work in Progress games is at 710, up 39 from 2 weeks ago.
It seems like the number of games having cards being added has stabilized at about 60-70 games every 2 weeks. That's has been somewhat consistent over the past few months. Its kind of funny looking at year old status updates I wrote about 40 games being added. :P
Hello! I am a bot.
So, I've been doing some general clean-up around the Wiki, most notably changing (most if not) all the instances of a game's card count to either
- "There are (X) cards in the series, and you'll receive (X/2 rounded up) cards at random for purchasing and playing the game." or
- "There are (X) cards in the series. Because (game) is a Free to Play Game, cards are earned by purchasing in-game content (approximately $9 USD per card drop).
In addition, I have made the following executive decisions:
- Blanketly tweaked the Badge gallery settings to have smaller spacing and wider margins, so the longer badge names are less squished. (should be complete)
- Changed descriptions of, for instance, "The sequels, (Game II) and (Game III), also hav…
Yet another 2 week status update. Ok, I'm a day late this time - I should have written this last night, but forgot about it. Oops.
The number of Supported Games is now at 2,179, up 64 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress games is 671, up 42 from 2 weeks ago. Between those two numbers, 22 game pages have been finished off.
Another 2 weeks, another status update.
The number of supported games is now 2114, up 50 from 2 weeks ago. The number of games in Work in Progress is 629, up 19 from 2 weeks ago. Not a terribly busy 2 weeks, and we only fell behind by a bit. Not really much more to say - pretty much business as normal.
Another 2 weeks, another status update. We had a nice break there for one week, what with the Summer Sale - only a few games released all week long, giving a nice opportunity to catch up some. Unfortunately the following week tried to make up for it with a boatload of games.
In total, the number of Supported Games is now 2064, up 51 from 2 weeks ago. The number of Work in Progress games is 610, down 20 from 2 weeks ago. Between those two numbers, we've finished off 71 games. Progress!
Time for the Steam Summer Sale, and time for the biweekly status update. In the past 2 weeks, the number of supported game has risen from 1941 to 2013, an increase of 72 games. The number of Work in Progress games has gone from 603 to 630, an increase of 27. So we well behind a little bit, but nothing too bad. With any luck, things will be fairly slow this week, what with the sale going on.
As a side note, the usual uptick in wiki traffic is happening. According to the Wikia WAM score, we're usually somewhere between rank 400-500 (it tends to float around quite a bit.) Right now we're at 202. Just above the Simpson's Tapped Out wiki. The number of page views has gone from about 16-22k per day to today's 41.8k page views.
It's been a rather absurdly busy 2 weeks since the last status update, in terms of game released. Since then, the number of supported games has risen to 1941, up 87 games. For comparison, back in February we had our previous high of 73 games in 2 weeks. So 87 is just crazy.
Not too shockingly after so many released in so short of a time period, the number of Work in Progress games went up. It's now at 603, up 49 from 2 weeks ago. Which actually isn't nearly as bad as I was afraid of, since I haven't managed to much of anything beyond just adding new games.
Rumor is that the Summer Sale will start in the next couple of weeks. If/when that happens, we should hopefully slow down the releases for a bit, giving us some time to catch up.
