  • I noticed that you haven't made any edits in a couple of days. I hope everything is OK, and that we see you again soon.

    • Yes ... everything is OK with me ... there were only a few complicated (and damn long) working days ... so it wasn't possible for me to make a some edits (at these days) ...
By no later than Friday, there should be much better with my time... (so I can participate effectively again.) :)

    • Glad everything is OK. Was just a little worried when you stopped being around  :)

  • Hello. It seems you recently reported IGnome for calling you a name, which Wikia seems to have delegated back to me. I sent him a message talking to him about the issue and asked him not to do it again.

I see from your profile wall that you're considering leaving the wiki. I'd be unhappy if you did - you've done a lot of really great work here. Please try not to tell IGnome bother you. I know you two don't really seem to get along too well. You seem to have a lot of disagreements over things that, I have to be honest, seem fairly minor. He's not as concerned about wiki standards as you are, but he's also added a lot to the wiki and helped fill in a lot of pages.

    • "but he's also added a lot to the wiki and helped fill in a lot of pages."

That's right ... but that does not give him the right to insult other users with pejorative names. And there it was equal to 3-4 times in a few hours on Saturday ... went to me but slowly too far ... and I'm not here to quarrel with other users, it was necessary for a competent authority to inquire, how I should behave now.

I'll see about what will now ... (incidentally, that was also the reason for a possible leaving)

        Loading editor
    • You're quite right. Hopefully that won't happen again. If it does, well, we'll figure out what to do about it...

  • Hi

Concerning : (gallery-tags restored (they was removed by IGnome) - Undo revision 90535 by IGnome (talk))

It must have been the visual editor screwing up removing empty galleries tag when i removed the work in progress category for badges, as i completed it. It doesn't really matter since those others chapter were empty for now.

  • I saw you added You Have to Win the Game. I was looking at it earlier trying to figure it out, because I think it's in the same boat as Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok. They're both Free to Play games, but because they don't have anything to actually buy, there's no way to actually get the cards. There's a number of conversations about it on the game's forums on Steam. It looks like the same situation as Heroine's Quest - the developer didn't know he wouldn't be allowed to give away the cards without anything to sell.

Unless Valve has changed their policy...

      Loading editor
    • Since I have not tested it ingame (and no DLC's are available on the store page) ... i will move the gamepage to the "Special Card Sets" (we will see if something will change with their card distributions)

  • Hello. I wanted to get your opinion on something. The list on Supported Games is getting rather ridiculously long, and I was thinking we need to do something to break it up and make it more managable. Something I started playing with the other day was a new tabbed system (which you probably noticed me messing with a lot in Recent Changes :) )  The page for it for the moment is at Supported Games. Its not even close to being done, but it at least shows generally what I was thinking about trying. I just wanted to know what you thought about it.

      Loading editor
    • I think these new layout is a good idea. It makes the list much clearer (because there are certainly more and more games with trading card support).

        Loading editor
    • Cool. If there's anything you think should be changed, added or done differently, let me know. I still have a lot of work to do. For now, I'm just trying to get the format correct. It's also somewhat difficult right now to add new games to the list, so I need to improve that.

        Loading editor
    • So ... I have sorted out all games starting with "A..." from category "Supported Games" and listed at the new page (Supported Games:A-C) in alphabetic order.

For a better layout I have set a small change for "Date Cards Added" column (at the moment only on page A-C)
(inserted this "width:140px;" ... which allows a one-line table header)

      formerly: ! scope = "col" style = "text-align:left;" | Date Cards Added now : ! scope = "col" style = "text-align: left; width:140px;" | Date Cards Added

I hope you like these little change ... if not... remove it :)

        Loading editor
    • That looks fine to me. Lot of games to be added  :)

  • I found a way to make uploading and categorizing multiple images at once easier. I wrote a Blog post about it the other day.

      Loading editor
    • I've been missing this option ... which is when multiple images (as Card Artwork for example) is really helpful for a game.

The only handicap is the summary section (automaticly inserted) ... i think that is actually not needed ... because it is self-explanatory (following our patterns for the designation) o.O

  • I'm slightly jealous. I managed to get up to 150 days there, but then somehow I wound up missing a day - I'm not even sure how. I'm back up to 110 days now, though, so hopefully in 3 months I'll have it as well  :P

      Loading editor
    • To miss one days after 150 days .. this is really hard ...
To miss a day, I've also had one ... (but as I was only 23 days here) ... that was then not quite so bad

by the way... the next badge (of this type) is

  • I put up the new game pages, then went to create the category page and - it already exists?  I don't remember doing that. Did I? Then I check the history...  :P

      Loading editor
    • sorry ... I was just doing the sides to create ... was then probably an overlap

by the way ... "Cloudbuilt" was released on March 20 (not 19 ... see "Supported Games") :D

and "Warlock 2: the Exiled" already has trading cards, but the game has a release date for the 10 April 2014... currently a candidate for unreleased games?

Edit: I just saw that Warlock 2: ... was already listed in unreleased games...

        Loading editor
    • That's a bit odd - I must not have created the Warlock 2 page when I put it on the unreleased game page, since it was blank.  Anyway, I added to the help with instructions on making a new trading card page. If any part of it is unclear, feel free to edit it.

        Loading editor
    • BTW, do you have an ideas about what to do with the new Free to Play movie?  For the moment, I put it in the Supported Games category, but its not actually a game. Should we have a Supported Movies category?  Put it with special card sets?

        Loading editor
    • I don't know why Valve released this documentary with trading card support... but I think this is the only movie, which will be released ... that means in my opinion is no extra category or section like "Supported Movies" needed .. but this could be placed at special card sets

  • Dear Caluril,

Could you please try and do everything on a page in one/two edits. Its ok to forget something and adding it in a different edit, but doing so much small edits on one page, that could easily have been one big edit (like on Grid 2) is not generally something we want. This doesn't give a good oversight of all edits that have been done.

Ow and please stop changing the spaces in the file names to _. In the code it doesn't matter which one you use, but we tend not to use the _ where you could also use a space. The pages for the files itself (like File:Kowloon Dragons.png) also don't use the _, they are only used in the url of the page.

    • Now I'm as smart as before ... I change no more space in _ that's ok ...

I did not cause any inconsistencies between the different users ... but in the near future I will only use existing images ... if detail pages are to create, because it's not my decision, whether spaces or _ should be at the source code for the file name.

That means that I create the detail pages for "Crusaders Kings II" for today (with the trading cards, the foil cards, categories and description from the Community market).

I adjust the sequence of the existing cards the same as the steam page (currently it is not the right order).

Btw... the game was bad named... not "Crusaders Kings II" ... only "Crusader Kings II" (according to steam gamecards page)

I have moved the page to the correct name ... was that OK?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, the renaming was a perfectly fine edit. It was indeed an incorrect name.

  • Hey Caluril, for some weird reason the way the explained to me to get all the (foil) cards doesn't work with Total War: SHOGUN 2. Can you make it work? If i try to use that way but it just brings me to my badges page instead of the correct foil cards page of the game.

    • I don't know why posts to other people's walls show up on wiki activity, but I noticed this, so...

For some strange reason, a few games have the 'wrong' SteamID for their cards.  They're the same 99% of the time, but the other 1%... I have no idea why - probably some technical reason. This seems to be one of them.  Anyway, in this case, the 'right' SteamID for the SHOGUN 2 cards is 34330.

In this case, I found it by looking at PalmDesert's Steam badges page. I tend to use his (and some of the other highest-level people's pages) to check on things like badges. His is at http://steamcommunity.com/id/palmdesert

    • Ok, thanks!

    • I'm sorry ... I have only just found the message (yesterday was a long day for me and I needed some sleep).

Drocket is correct, Steam Store has for Shogun 2 a "wrong ID" in the shop ... (by the way, would only have to search a bit to find the correct ID)

the cards are already added ... so that the request has done here :)

        Loading editor
    • Yes, I've added them myself when Drocket responded. Ow and i really don't know why it came up on your notifications Drocket. And not much of an expert on that part.
