  • So I found an edge case for the Artwork template: Resident Evil 6. Card 2 and 3, 4 and 5, and 6 and 7 share Card Artwork, thus it results in only 5 card artwork, as you can now see on the page.

I could rename the second to just 2 (we skip 3), then the next to 4, etc. That should show correctly in the Artwork template. But If I would change the trading card pages to TradingCard2, it wouldn't add card artwork for cards 3, 5 and 7 as it'll be searching for those numbers.

After thinking about it, I think it's best to rename those images like I said, and then only switch to TradingCard2 template for cards 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8, and leave the other three at the old template. What do you think is best?

  • Tried your templates for a page about Battlefront 2's trading cards, and there's some things i noticed:

    1. The background template adds colons to the names, which for emoticons are correct but not the former.

    2. Maybe i did something wrong, but while the badge, emoticons and backgrounds templates allow clicking on the file names to upload images, the card, booster pack and artwork ones don't. Maybe a limitation?

Otherwise they're great concepts and would definatively make creating pages here easier and more convenient. Keep it up.

    • Cool, thanks for your feedback! I've addressed issue #1 now, good catch!

Regarding issue #2, it's now addressed for everything but the artworks, as that turned out to be a slightly trickier case. Also, Fandom seems to have a limit on how many broken images a gallery may have, so it'll only show the upload links for the first 12 cards.

    • Edit: scratch that part about there being a limit 12 broken images, that was just my mistake. :D

  • I saw you already used the templates for cards and badges on Command & Conquer Remastered Collection. I just want to be sure they work perfect before implementing them on the site.

How do these templates work with cases like BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien and some other games with weird names, including punctuation marks, of games with incredibly long names, where the names of the subpages for trading cards are different from the main game? Or where the images aren't the exact same name as the game's page due to the game name containing a colon or another sign that isn't allowed in image names?

I try to keep track of the weird cases I come across on my user page. But there are a LOT of games on this site which contain a colon in the name, like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, where the images don't contain the colon. If the template can handle that, i'm all for it, but I don't want to only partially implement something, change it again, requiring double the work to change it again on all pages. We have so much pages on this Wiki, I can't afford implementing changes to only a small part of the wiki.

I also went ahead and removed the TM's in the names by the way. We shouldn't include those, or the wiki will be full of copyright signs, TM's, registered signs, etc. Everything on this wiki is copyrighted, hence we add the license to images. These signs are not part of the game's name though, it just means the name is registered, copyrighted and whatever.

    • Oops, indeed that's what you wrote! Well, Template:TradingCard2 has now been fixed to look for PNG images too and the image in Dota 2 - Phantom Lancer appears just fine. :)

    • No probs, thank you for the quick fix! Great, now every trading card page can be changed to the TradingCard2 template, instead of having exceptions.

  • Thank you for the work you've done. Could you please, when you upload images, add the correct ones? The Foil card images you uploaded still have borders and you haven't added the correct categories and no license. You can find all info on the Help page.

    • I'm adding the categories for you now and uploading the correct images, but please remember that for the next time. Also, it seemed the Booster Pack you uploaded wasn't in English, please do that too in the future if you're gonna upload Booster Pack images.

  • Yeah the galleries cannot be made in a template ive learned from a friend. They can be created using Tabber but i dont think that plugin is enabled on this wikia. If we have boilerplates then all we have to do is fill in the blank :D

  • Hey mate, just wanted to thank you for fixing up the 'vandalism' on the Terraria page, I've been swamped with creating new pages that I haven't had time to check on older pages.
