Steam Trading Cards Wiki

Obviously, the big news on this update is the start of the Steam winter event. These are always interesting, not only because of being able to see what Valve is doing on Steam, but also because it drives so much extra traffic to this wiki. The primary method of checking this out is the Wikia WAM score. which isn't directly a traffic meter, but does also take that into account. Normally this wiki hovers in the 400-450th range (compared to all the other wikis on Wikia.) Right now we're at #331. I'd be willing to bet that we'll go higher still, partially because I believe the score is averaged over time, but also because there will undoubtedly be a lot of people who haven't been paying attention much to what's going on on Steam, but will once the sales start.

As as admin now, I also have access to some (extremely basic) stats. Normally the wiki has 10-12k page views per day. The 12th was 22k, and the 13th and 14th were 33k and 27k respectively. So we're moving up. Hopefully we'll be able to permanently keep some of the extra traffic after the sales end, as people find the wiki useful.

Anyway, back to the normal boring stats. The number of Supported Games is at 1291, up from 1243, an increase of 48. The number of Work in Progress games is 503, up from 479. Between those, it means 24 games have been finished off in the past 2 weeks.

Slightly bad, I know. I've been a little busy with other things recently. Probably everyone has - there's always stuff to do around the holidays, it seems. Fortunately, we'll probably get a break once the sale starts, since not many games get released during the couple of weeks around Christmas, since they'd wind up being totally overshadowed.

Until next time, Happy Holidays!
